Reflective Practice

We needed to include the following in our poster design:

What have you learnt?
This year I have how to work independently and not procrastinate, although this is very much a work in progress as I still seem to end up leaving my work to the last minute. But an improvement has definitely been made. I have also become much more confident using adobe software, before i started the course I had pretty much no experience with illustrator and in design, so I have come a long way.

What has engaged you?
The guest speakers that have come in to talk to us have really engaged me and inspired me. It has made me more motivated with my work and made me think about my future. I also really engaged with the workshops such as print and bookbinding as they have helped me bring new skills into my work.

Aims and ambitions for level 5?
In Level 5 I want to try to find my style of working as at the moment it is very open, I want to have a style of working so I can build up my portfolio. I also want to do some freelance work so i can get a feel for the industry.

Things you have not enjoyed?

I have not enjoyed blogging as I don't do it on the day and have to do it all at the end which is very time consuming. This has also lead to my stress levels being very high especially around the time of deadlines.

I included in my design illustrations of things that I need to have around me in order to work these items are what I associate with my work and adds to my aesthetics as a person as well as my personal items that i feel I can't work without . I liked this as it brought me back to my fine art background which I am trying to get back to as I have become very digital and it has no depth. I liked how I brought the illustrations into digital format as I think it adds more interest. I scanned in my original sketches and added depth and colour into them using photoshop.
