My Dad used to work for Future plc based in Bath, he gave me the email for Rodney Dive, Head of Design. Future mainly publish magazines but in recent years also do a lot of online content with the shift to digital. It would be really interesting to see how design is incorporated into this industry. Future is also a massive company employing many people around the globe. It would be great to get my foot in the door to work with a company like this is there would be a potential job afterwards and opportunity for career progression.

From speaking to Ben Hollom, they are a marketing company that deliver strategies to companies. Ben told me they have a lot of design work and expand the team when they need to with freelancers. So hopefully if the placement goes well they will be able to offer me freelance work in the future.
I originally spoke to Ben on the phone where he said he could fit me in for a placement in April as they are more quiet then before getting busy in summer time. I am going to do a placement for a week beginning 22nd April.
My dad works in Marketing and so I was lucky enough to be able to ask him for some help finding a placement as I have exhausted quite a few avenues now and feel like I am getting nowhere with my search to get a placement and time is running out. He was able to pass on a few names and email addresses that I could contact.
David Roberts is the managing director of a big marketing agency in Bath that also have offices in London and San-Fransisco. I contacted him asking about placement opportunities, he responded giving me the names of his colleagues to speak to about the matter.
Unfortunately this opportunity hasn't yet materialised and I have got other opportunities instead.

I Called them up and was given Karen Birds email, they told me that they simply don't have room for me. I don't know if this is them just politely rejecting me or if its true that they don't have the desk space.
